The Look [without the camp hair] There's a bright light shining inside you it shines out through your eyes Don't drown it away, don't be afraid, don't hide Let it shine Back to the wall Dylan sat on his bed, breathing slowly in and out of his large lungs before dropping himself to his side so he lay on his bed, but with his legs daggling off the edge, the floor tempting them to relief themselves of the space beneath. Groaning he sat up again, he was bored, and it was night time, more like evening really. He had nothing at all to do, he could go to chaos but he could think of so many reasons not to, he could play sports, but yet again he could think of over ten reasons not, thus declining the choice and making it a non choice. Sighing he stood up and shook himself off, he needed to go out, he needed excitement. He'd called nobody, received no messages asking for his company that evening so he was his own man, free to do whatever. To a certain extent. He was already wearing a white t-shirt, jeans and a chain [not a necklace, although his friends did take the piss and say 'why are you wearing a necklace?'] as well as a leather cuff and a ringer. Pulling a shirt over the top he grabbed his scarf and slung it around his neck before flicking a band around his wrist. Grabbing his car keys, his phone and his wallet he fled from his room and then fled form his home where he and the rest of the kappa boys usually lived.
Pulling himself into his car he slammed the door behind him and revved up the engine, immediately the stereo coming on and the words to 'Fireworks' by Plain White T's blasting out and into his car. Smiling he pulled away from the curb and drove towards New York City. Parking up Dylan got out, double locking his car to make sure it was secure before walking away and leaving one of his most treasured things in the centre of New York. Before long Dylan sat quietly on the hard wooden bench with his hands deep inside the pockets to his jeans. Sighing he let himself lean back against the rickety panels of the old, peeling bench. His headphones were in his ears and he was sat on a bench with the cool burst of wind flowing around him and wiping his scarf off into different directions before it dropped and his scarf fell down onto his neck. Sighing for the second time in a few minutes he scuffed his feet along the pavement below him. Autumn was approaching them rapidly and it was easy to tell, rare leaves blustered care freely along the stony sidewalks and a chilling breeze flooded past. True, it was the evening and a cooler temperature was expected in a place like New York, even if they often had blisteringly hot summers, their winters could be hellish.
The wind blew again and Dylan wrapped his scarf tighter around himself before pulling him shirt around his body, he wasn't the kind of guy who'd sit there and try to look really cool by pretending tey aren’t cold. In truth, he was freezing his butt off, but he'd cope, he was the one who'd chosen to go to times square. Looking up at the bright lights around him he smiled to himself, the reds and yellows burning into his eyes as they advertised and shouted down at him like he was a tiny little child in a sea of six foot men. It was like Christmas ever evening in times square, all happiness and lit up. [/size][/color]

it's friday night, two for one you're either loved or you're lonely. and if you're young then you're young, and shouldn't have to sleep alone.______________________ Beep. Beep. Beep. Ridley was awoken to the sound of her alarm clock going off in her ear. She didn't want to wake up, rolling over she slammed her hand on the sleep button on her alarm clock and tried to go back to sleep, when she was unsuccessful in going back to sleep by the next time the alarm went off. She finally sat up stretching both of her arms to side and turned off the alarm. Looking over at the time, she was surprised that she actually woke up this early. Looking over to her alarm clock she saw that it was only nine in the morning. Letting out a half grunt she turned to the side and left her bed. Ridley made her way into the bathroom and took a quick 20 minute shower.
As she got out of the shower she made her over to her closet. Looking around she grabbed a shirt, once she found the right shirt she made her way over and picked out a pair of black jeans. As she finished getting ready to go out for the day she wondered what she actually wanted to do. Would she go shopping? No she was getting low on money for the week, and she still had to eat for the rest of the week. Would she go work out? That was really unlikely. Than she thought of New York city, how long as it been since she went to NYC? It has been forever, so right then and there it was decided that she was going to go to NYC for the day. Looking up she smiled and made her way over to the door. Looking down she picked a pair of shoes. Looking out the window she figured that it wasn't exactly 90 in NYC, so she figured she might as well bring a jacket just in case.
Making her way out the door she grabbed her purse that held her wallet, her keys, her Ipod and everything else that beta sigma girl needs. As she left her room and walked through the house she smiled saying that she would see everyone later. Leaving the house she found her car got in and started it. Waiting a minute for the engine to run she got her Ipod hooked up to the car and picked the right song. Leaving the house she made her way into NYC. She finally got to the NYC, now the question was where in the world would she go. That was an easy question, she would of course go to times square, where else would she go? She was a teenage girl and she loved to shop and hang out. So times square was the perfect place to go for her. Making her way along the rode she immediately parked her car noticing a familiar face. Putting on her coat she got out of the car and locked the doors. Then she got out and made her way to where Dylan was sitting. "Funny meeting you here" she said with a smile. Noticing what he was wearing she couldn't believe it. "You must be freezing your ass off" she said with a half smile.

The Look [without the camp hair] There's a bright light shining inside you it shines out through your eyes Don't drown it away, don't be afraid, don't hide Let it shine
Dylan shrugged his shoulders hard as he turned the music up on his ipod, locking it and pushing it deep into his pocket. Dylan loved music and he was a pure sucker for a good soul or r’n’b track. It was like an addiction almost. It was the truth, he adored his little soul trackers, it was the soul reason Bill Withers’ ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ was his number one most played track. But I do admit, that is a tune. Although, he didn’t just like r’n’b and soul. In fact he even had a small spot in his heart of punk, rock and alternative, a bit of acoustic slashing its way through his ‘old ticker’. As his left headphone fell onto his chest he sighed and even groaned a little, flicking it with his finger before lifting it and placing it into his left ear again. He hated the headphones he got with ipod and mp3s, they never seemed to stay in. Smirking as Lovestoned by Justin Timberlake came on he found himself tapping his feet, people glancing at him as if he was some hobo doing the moonwalk down the road, but he wasn’t, he was just a toe tapping Dylan.
Just then he saw someone stand in front of him and he turned to look at them. He saw Ridley. He best girl. Although, he had to admit, she wasn’t actually his girl was she? No, she was Gabe’s girl, and she was merely on loan to him as a friend. AA best friend though, she was, Riddles was his utterly best friend in the entire world. Bliss, no? Well, not when through High School everyone thought you were going out. Dylan had always bee confused about it, was he supposed to have a crush on Ridley? Did she have a crush on him? All those sorts of questions. But, he didn’t have a crush on Ridley as far as he knew, yeah, he liked her and obviously she was beautiful, but did he have a crush? Not quite. Smiling up at her he nodded at the seat beside him as an indication to sit her ass down. Lifting his headphones form his ears he turned his music off and wound the headphones around it silently before shoving it into his left pocket and clearing his throat. ”Funny meeting me here? I’m always here, I practically live here” he joked, in fact it was the first time he’d been there since school started, but she needn’t know that. Her second comment made him laugh and he shook his head before flexing his muscles and going, ”Nah, I’m rippling, I don’t get cold..” before wrapping his arms around himself again and laughing.

it's friday night, two for one you're either loved or you're lonely. and if you're young then you're young, and shouldn't have to sleep alone.______________________ Ridley smiled, the topic of Dylan Molinsky was a strange and weird topic for Ridley to discuss or even think about these days, especially now that her and Gabe are going out. Of course it shouldn't be that strange. He was her best friend and has been ever since she was in diapers and and played in sandboxes, and he was going to be her best friend until she was old an crippled and living in a retirement home. So why was the top of Dylan so complicated lately? Well for the past couple of months Ridley has started to feel and realize that her feelings toward Dylan were becoming more than just platonic and turning into romantic feelings. Now the problem with those feelings are that she is completely happy and in love with Gabe Welling, and there was no way that she wanted to do anything or feel anything that could jeopardize. So not only was she hiding something from her two best friends, she was also now hiding something from her boyfriend and that was the last thing that she wanted to do.
Looking down she took the seat next to Dylan. She expected Dylan to play Mr. Tough Guy, after all he had a reputation to uphold. She laughed and turned to him. "oh please, it's me here Dylan, your freezing" she said with a small smile. Looking around she saw a coffee shop just across the street. "Come on let's go in there and get warm, because unlike you, i'm a wuss and i'm starting to get cold" she said with a small smile. She really wanted to go in somewhere where it was warm. She didn't half to protect her reputation or whatever in the world Dylan was doing. She was cold and wanted to go inside. She turned to him and hoped that he would forget everything and just move on inside. "Alright so ive decided, i am going inside and you can either join me, or get frostbite out here, your choice" she said with a half grin. She hoped that he would come she didn't want to be alone. As she got up she turned back with a laugh. "Actually i've decided, your coming anyway" she said with a smile and leaned down and grabbed his hand and tried to pull him up.
ooc; eww that sucked sry

The Look [without the camp hair] There's a bright light shining inside you it shines out through your eyes Don't drown it away, don't be afraid, don't hide Let it shine Ridley. Dylan. Ridley and Dylan. Dylan and Ridley. That was how it had been for years, if you were having a party you’d always invite Ridley and Dylan, they came as a pair. Like twins in some respects, because twins often get coupled together as one without further thought. It was a comfortable feeling being with Ridley, Dylan felt like she should be there, it wasn’t awkward in the slightest. Dylan had liked Ridley a little when he was younger, just a minute amount though. He would never have gotten in so deep as to have a full blown crush on her, it was more lust, physical attraction. She could read him like an open book, something not manage managed without a little difficulty. She was special. Or at least she was special to him. Although, Dylan had no doubts about Gabe treating her well, he lived the guy and was best friends with Ridley so if anything happened he’d be the first to know.
As Ridley saw straight through him he let out a small laugh from between his parted lips. In truth, he’d actually just liked being outside, even if meant being cold. He always had, even as a little kid he’d been the one wearing shorts all year round and going out in the rain, not to mention the first to get a tan. Her initation to go into the warm coffee shop brought a smile to Dylan lips as the smell form the shop’s contents waffled across the road. Closing his eyes he breath in slowly and before he knew it Ridley was talking at him again. Flicking his lids back he looked up at her and smiled, letting her take his hands. ”Fine, I’ll leave me climbing Mount Everest training till later” he laughed. No, he’d never climb a mountain, he was fair too much of a chicken. Laughing at her attempt to pull him up he rolled his eyes and stood up himself and began to edge across towards the road. Dylan had always through that the New York roads should be called the roads of death because everyone drove so fast, no care for who was in the way, and he didn’t think any of them could drive. But then again, he wasn’t that good of a driver. [/size][/color]

it's friday night, two for one you're either loved or you're lonely. and if you're young then you're young, and shouldn't have to sleep alone.______________________ Ridley smiled and led Dylan into the small coffee shop that was sitting across the street. She walked inside the door and smiled, she immediately felt the coldness of the outside air leave her and that wasn't even the best part. She looked around and it was a true New York coffee shop. Much better than a mainstream Starbucks or any other coffee shop that she has been to. It had that homey and welcoming feel that she absolutely loved. Walking further inside she started to smell the different smells of the coffees that they had to offer. Immediately she smelled the the aroma of her favorite coffee. It was the perfect combination of blackberry and sweet, tropical fruit the perfect things to wake up Ridley in the morning, of course it wasn't the cheapest coffee in the world so the only time she could have them were those special outings. She was so excited that they had it here, she now knew that it was the right decision to get out of the cold and go inside the coffee shop. Leading the way she led the way to the counter so she didn't have to waste anymore time without her coffee. Ridley was almost a changed girl when it came to coffee, if she wanted coffee she would make sure she got some, whatever the cost was.
After a fifteen minute wait in line they were in the front of the line and Ridley was ordering. "I'll have a large Kenyan coffee and a blueberry muffin to go with that" she said with a smile. Moving out of the way she let Dylan order and before he could reach down for his wallet she reached for hers and took out her money. "I'll pay, and im not taking a no for an answer, you pay for enough as it is" she said with a smile and gave the cashier the money. Grabbing her coffee and muffin she waited for Dylan and made her way to an open table next to the window. Sitting down across from Dylan she smiled. "I know you probably would much rather be outside but at least you can look outside here" she said with a sweet smile. Ridley wasn't dumb she knew her best friend and knew that he loved the outdoors but Ridley wasn't that strong and had to go inside. Finally remembering what she wanted to talk about before she became more concerned with the coldness she took a small sip of her coffee and turned to Dylan "So i hear that you and my other best friend kissed, more than once, the first thing is, why did i hear it from her first?? and the second what's going on there?" she asked in a sweet smile. She would love for her two best friends to go out and be happy with eachother. Least it would be easier on her, she wouldn't have to meat two new people to make sure they were good enough for her best friends.

The Look [without the camp hair] There's a bright light shining inside you it shines out through your eyes Don't drown it away, don't be afraid, don't hide Let it shine Dylan smiled as Ridley led him across the busy road and towards the small coffee shop. As soon as they went inside the warm and friendly place reached his body and a soothing warm, clam feeling over came him. Shutting the door behind him he closed his eyes for a few moments before opening them, his blinking slowing right down as if he was anesthetised or something. Dylan had always thought that Ridley had always had a knack for picking great places, e had no idea why but wherever he ended up with her he seemed to like. As they got closer to the counter a million smells wafted through the air; the enjoyable bitter smell of coffee followed by the pleasant smell of muffins and the occasional zing of something foreign and fruity.
It was a new and exciting place for Dylan to be, normally he went to good ol’ starbucks and spent a ton of money on some coffee that, frankly, tasted as though someone spat in it. In fact, Dylan had, on more than one occasion, been quite wary about being nice to the vendors because he was almost certain it’d help him get better coffee. Sadly, he discovered all their coffee tasted like that. As he listened to Ridley’s order he smirked and rolled his eyes, it was something he almost expected form the girl. His mind was torn between a good old fashioned black coffee or a black coffee made with beans from the Rift Valley. Sure, he had no idea why it was so special that you added on a dollar, but it had to be for that price. Before his hand has even got as far as his wallet Ridley insisted on paying and with a roll of his eyes he said, ”Fine, fine. But next time, I’m paying” he smiled.
”Umm, can I have a large Rift Valley black coffee please” he smiled as the cashier before adding, ”Oh, and a chocolate brownie” he smiled, glancing down at the glass pane which held the chocolate brownie, sure it had a fancy name but in reality, it was just a chocolate brownie. Smiling he took his coffee and plate form the cashier and took a seat opposite Ridley, quickly taking a sip of his coffee. He had to admit, it was worth the extra dollar. The coffee’s bitter taste flowed down his throat slowly and he licked his lips as he place the large cup back down on the table. At Ridley’s comment he laughed and looked through the large glass pane out and to the place he’d been sat, the bench seemed quite lonely on it’s own without anyone sitting on it, or so he thought until a hobo sat on it. Then it just looked fine.
As he listened to Ridley’s question he pulled the corner off his brownie and popped it into his mouth, chewing it as he chewed over his answer. ”Well..” he started, looking back into Ridley’s eyes. ”I mean, sorry...for you know, not telling you. If it’s any consolation I didn’t tell anyone, not even Sofia or Gabe or anything. In fact, if I had told Gabe he’d have only told you anyway so I’ll bare that in mind next time I need to tell you something” he smiled before shrugging his shoulders and saying, ”I don’t know what’s going on with us. I mean, I’d love to be her boyfriend, really, that’d be great. But I don’t know where I stand with her at the moment.” he shrugged. The truth was, he was far too chicken to ask as well, so the chances of him finding out were all riding on Alexis being her bold self.

it's friday night, two for one you're either loved or you're lonely. and if you're young then you're young, and shouldn't have to sleep alone.______________________ Ridley took another sip of her coffee and a bit of her muffin and got ready for what was sure to be a good day with her best friend. Most likely the two of them would end up talking about what was different in each other's lives, ever since school had started the two of them haven't had much time to just sit down and talk, and for Ridley that was a big problem, so she was glad that she ran into Dylan in New York. Having known Dylan as long as she as and having someone like Dylan to know her as long as he is, it was always easy for the two of them to talk about whatever and feel completely comfortable and trustworthy in the other person. That was huge for Ridley and a big accomplishment for her, and it was something that she never wanted to lose, she didn't want to lose that feeling of so much security and trust in someone.
She took another sip of her coffee and finally the last bit of cold inside her was washed away and warmth completely engulfed in her body. She turned and listened to what Dylan was saying, of course she was only kidding when she wondered why he didn't tell her first, she knew that she was normally hanging or talking with either Alexis or Gabe, and one of those people was the person that told her about the kisses anyway. So it wasn't really a surprise that he didn't tell her, but she still enjoyed teasing him with the fact that he got to her, or in this case, she got to him a little to late for him to be the first one to tell her the good news. "So technically i am still the first one that you've told, well more like found out, but anyway, i guess don't feel completely awful and unloved anymore" she said with a smile and a small laugh.
She listened to the rest of what Dylan was saying and smiled. She didn't just smile because she was hanging out with her longest and best friend again, but she smiled because her longest and best friend brought up her boyfriend, and no matter what was going on the easiest way to make her smile these days was to bring up the boyfriend. It was scary to her knowing that one name could change her emotions in a second. Taking a small bite out of her muffin she thought about everything that Dylan said. "True, when in doubt just tell Gabe during one of your 'Frat thingy's' and i'll hear it sometime" she said with a smile. She never had a clear cut idea of what went on in the Fraternity house, but she figured that it had to something with playboy's and beer, what else would a bunch of guys do?
What else would make Ridley happier than her two best friends going out? Well besides just hanging out with Gabe, absolutely nothing, she was selfish sometimes, and it would just be easier on her and she wouldn't half to go and make sure she met two new people to make sure that they were good enough for her best friends. So hearing that he would love to be her boyfriend it brought another smile to her face, not just because she was selfish but because it seemed to make him happy, and that always made her smile to see her friends happy. "Dylan, you gotta stop thinking that your no good, or not worth it, really you gotta stop being so cowardly, i know it's hard, i used to be just the same way, but then that someone came into my life, and everything i knew went out the window and i just wanted to be with him, now if that's how you feel about Alexis, than just tell her straight out, and if i know my best friend, she feel the same way" she said with an encouragingly smile. The truth, in the manner that Alexis woke her up that morning, she couldn't have been happier about kissing Dylan. She started to hope that this would all work out for the better.

The Look [without the camp hair] There's a bright light shining inside you it shines out through your eyes Don't drown it away, don't be afraid, don't hide Let it shine Dylan pulled a bit of the corner of his brownie off as he looked out the large pain. Grey skies and tall buildings, nothing important. The trouble was he was he was thinking about Alexis. He was confused, as per usual, and a little uneasy with it all. Did she want a boyfriend? He had no idea. He wanted her to, but only if it was him, If she wanted someone else as a boyfriend he was fairly sure he’d be quite pissed off. To understate it, anyway. He didn’t want to be a friend with benefits, he was practically a girl when it came to attaching emotions to sex. Sighing he shrugged his shoulders and removed his eyes form the window, letting them drift back over to Ridley and her big brown eyes.
Ridley. There was another person in his life. He adored Ridley and he was pretty sure she was, actually, the best person in the entire world. She had to be. She listened to his small rants, watched his games and was even dating one of his friends. The truth be told he’d missed her a little. He’d been busy with sport and school to realise that they hadn’t talked in a while, but it was understandable, he had had to concentrate on sports for his first couple of years so he could keep his scholarship. Otherwise, he’d have to drop out and take up a job at Chuck E Cheese, and even though Dylan could obvious work yellow, it may decrease his crushability rating if he looked like a giant mouse. Not that it would matter, his smile went straight to your heart faster than you could say bulls eye.
Sipping slowly at his coffee he listened to Ridley talking, the hot liquid flowing down his throat and warming his hands as it irradiated soft heat from it’s ceramic exterior. Taking it form his lips he slowly placed it down on the table, a grin spilling over from his lips as he looked down at his cup, lifting his eyes to look at Ridley happily. Her smile lit up her face as Dylan looked at her, shrugging his shoulders and smiling as he moved his head in that kind of ‘if you like’ way, left to right in short stops. ”Technically, your quite right” he smiled, lifting his cup back to his lips and sipping at it silently as he leant back in his chair. Listening to her talk about him being a coward he smiled, tilting his head to one side as he eyed her carefully. Was she lying to him? No, Ridley wouldn’t lie to him to make him look a fool, she was his best friend. It was time for him to trough away his doubts and worries and wake up in the morning and stop thinking he was wrong. Yes, it was time to stop worrying about himself, it’d got him no where. ”Fine. I will” he grinned happily at her, biting into his brownie again.

it's friday night, two for one you're either loved or you're lonely. and if you're young then you're young, and shouldn't have to sleep alone.______________________ Ridley took another small bite off of her muffin and looked out the window of the cafe. New York was so beautiful. Sometimes she wished that she lived in the city of New York around all the shopping centers and the different people and just all the action and excitement that is New York City. But than again she's glad that she lives where she does and goes to college where she does, because if she didn't live there or go there to her college than she most likely wouldn't have met Gabe, she wouldn't have met Dylan or Alexis or any other of her friends, which to Ridley would be a complete shame and she wouldn't be living the life that she is now. Which would be a shame for her, because for once in her life she likes living the life that she has for her right now.
It was New York city though, how awesome would it be to live there? She would have the world at her feet, she would have anything and everything that she wanted not more than a block away, it couldn't get any better than that. But of course being the girl that she is, and the girl with the bad past, she wasn't a material girl at all and would much rather have the friends that she has than the hottest designer clothes. "Well i guess than technically i can't be mad at you anymore" she said with a smile on he face. The truth was, she was never actually mad at Dylan, she couldn't never be really mad at her best friend, but it was fun to kid and joke around with him. That was probably the best thing that she loved about her friendship with Dylan, is that no matter what was going on she knew that she could joke around with him than she could turn around and have a serious conversation with him.
When she heard that he would stop being scared and tell her how he really felt, she let out a big smile. She wasn't only happy for him, but she was also happy for her other best friend Alexis. Unless she was lying to her and being completely fake the morning that she came in and woke her up and seemed completely excited that she kissed Dylan, but what was more surprising was that she wanted more with Dylan, but not more in the way of sex, more in the way of a relationship, which was a big step for her, and Ridley couldn't be happier for her best friends. "That's awesome, Dyl, really it is, i am so excited for you two, you have no idea" she said with a truthful smile. She honestly couldn't be happier for her two best friends, she knew how it was to be happy with someone, and she really wanted her best friends to experience that same feeling.
